Meet Dino, our third MakerGear M2 3D printer at GSA Makerspace. With the support of MakerGear, a person wishing to remain anonymous donated the printer as well as several rolls of filament, extruders/nozzles, glass plates, and a license for Simplify3D’s slicer software. The donor was looking for a worthy cause and liked that we are putting the printers in the hands of artistic and tech-savvy students alike.
We are very grateful to the donor for this printer. The added printing capacity will really boost the ability for our students to rapidly prototype their designs.
On that note, Mack and I are working with Katherine Roederer in Middle School to develop an entrepreneur unit for her eighth grade Language Arts students using the 3D printers and laser cutter. The extra printer will help the students create more items to sell at our Holiday Boutique and still have spare capacity available for the Upper Schools makerspace elective and other activities throughout the school.
Thanks again to our donor and MakerGear!
