This Friday is a big day for our eighth graders. They are participating in our Holiday Boutique, selling ornaments and other products that they have designed and marketed as part of an entrepreneur unit in language arts.
In just five weeks they have learned how to write business plans and use persuasive language to target their products at a specific market. All of the students have learned basic 3D design software to create a variety of objects printed with our 3D printers. Some have also learned to use vector graphics software to create some wonderful acrylic ornaments cut on our laser cutter. The unit also exposes them to the financial challenges and realities of starting and running a business.
This Friday, December 5th, from 2-5pm, they will be selling their creations along with nearly thirty other vendors in our dining hall on campus. The students have chosen to donate all revenue to the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County and the Wounded Warrior Project.
Please visit the boutique, support our students and our mission.
